Wine and Cheese!
A simple gathering. What better to host it with but Wine and Cheese! It’s clean it’s simple, add in some crackers, conversation and we have a wonderful enjoyable time! The best part, there’s always something to fulfill everyone’s pallet when you include the right Wine with the right Cheese. I know, it can be confusing, but with the right mixture and blends, your guest will think of you as the perfect host and want to know how you knew how to do this (we don’t have to tell, well you can give away secrets to ensure when you go to their home or event they have done some of the pairing you did.).
One thing I adore, mixing and matching! Those blends you have tasted at some restaurant, a friend’s home, at a wedding, in a different part of the Country. That one you fell in-love with, chased the tray server and hunted down the same wine. And I don’t know about you, but I have always wondered why in the world do we have so many cheeses and what are they used for?! And Wine, well that goes without saying.
So, let’s mess up the kitchen!
Below is a guide were you can start making your Wine and Cheese list. Think of the flavors on your taste buds as you read each one.
Now, let’s get some wine and cheese of your choice and start pairing
Who does not enjoy a Sharp Cheddar cheese?! Red wines go best. There is something about the flavor of the Red wines to bring out the bold taste of the almost enlighten flavor of a sharp cheese. It doesn’t just have to be cheddar. You can mix many other hard salty cheeses or soft bold white cheese such as a Sharp Swiss cheeses, provolone on crackers with a salami slice is wonderful too. Cabernets and Red Wines work so very well with bold cheeses and salty cheeses, they bring out the true taste of the Wine and the cheese to add the light of a match but it’s also has the after taste of blended fruits. A non-bold Merlot will work well too. Try it, you will be surprised.
